BPP-TECH’s Management and Monitoring Services integrate advanced instrumentation with bespoke software to provide fully integrated monitoring applications.
One example of this is the BPP-RMS, a fully integrated riser management package. BPP-RMS can be incorporated into a new-build or retrofitted to existing drilling vessels.
GE has selected the BPP-RMS for installation on Pre-Salt drilling vessels.

BPP-RMS features:

  • Comprehensive real-time riser stress analysis
  • Numerical model of riser: 3D finite element model uses prevailing environmental conditions to predict the behaviour of the riser
  • Recommended vessel position, riser tension and operational envelopes: Allows informed decisions relating to riser and vessel position
  • Drift off path: real-time environmental data notifies the ‘emergency disconnect point’ and ‘time to disconnect’
  • Third party and vessel systems can be integrated: Allows information to be shared between multiple sources
  • Ergonomic user interface: the intuitive touch-panel screen presents critical information
  • Configurable riser input: unique riser component properties are used in the riser stack up
  • Warnings and alarms: Visual and audible alarms are logged
  • Data recording: Key input dynamic and derived data are recorded
  • Upper and Lower Electronic Riser Angle (ERA): hazardous areas (upper) and deep water immersion (lower) sensors
This is an on-board Riser Management System offering real-time guidance for normally tensioned drilling or completion/workover riser operations. Active management is possible using the sophisticated integration of signals from the riser and vessel.
 
The BPP-RMS predicts the behaviour of the riser in real time, allowing the operator to optimise the vessel’s operations.
